Voet Delivers Tailor-Made Power Solution for Waste Processor After Fire Incident
Voet Energy Solutions delivers fast and efficient tailor-made energy solutions for a waste processing company after a fire incident — in collaboration with Eqin. Last summer, a waste processor in the Port of Rotterdam faced a crisis when a fire broke out in one of their boilers, causing the plant to come to a standstill. With an impressive energy connection of 80 megawatts on the 25 kV grid in Rotterdam, the company not only powers its own operations but also supplies energy to surrounding businesses.
In collaboration with United Rentals Europe, we worked over the past year on a temporary power supply for a waste processor in the Botlek. This project was set up to bridge the period until the new power building is ready. As in phase two, we once again constructed an impressive 250-meter scaffold, with a medium-voltage installation at the end.
This medium-voltage installation powers various pumps and equipment. Behind it, we installed three distribution cabinets: one “preferred” cabinet and two “non-preferred” cabinets. The preferred cabinet ensures that, in the event of a grid outage, the generator automatically switches on, keeping the preferred groups energized.

With this approach, we make optimal use of the existing large power connection. By running the cable across the scaffold, we can bring the energy precisely where it’s needed at any given time. This is yet another great collaboration demonstrating how, with smart solutions, we can guarantee reliable power supply — even in challenging environments.
