Temporary Power Solution for Transformer Station Upgrade
Grid operator Liander has started the conversion of a transformer station in Hoorn. The work includes installing a new transformer, switches, and the low-voltage rack. To temporarily take over the existing electrical installation during the work, we supplied two temporary power modules (provisoriums).
The purpose of these temporary units is to guarantee the power supply in the area throughout the conversion works. All medium-voltage cables from the grid operator are rerouted and connected to our temporary modules. This allows the contractor to carry out the work without the need to run a generator during the entire period. The solution results in significant savings on fuel, noise pollution, and CO₂ emissions, while also minimizing inconvenience to the surrounding area.

Once the temporary units were operational, the contractor began the conversion of the transformer station. The entire process is running smoothly, without any interruptions to the power supply. The work is expected to be completed by mid-April. After completion, all medium-voltage cabling from the temporary units will be rerouted and connected back into Liander’s renewed transformer station. Voet Energy Solutions will then collect the temporary units, concluding the temporary power solution.
