Rapid Emergency Power Solution Commissioned by Enexis After Dike Breach in Maastricht
The water level of the Meuse River rose sharply, causing, among other things, a dike breach. The resulting surge of water sent a houseboat in a branch of the river adrift, which then collided with a bridge. The bridge was damaged, as was the medium-voltage cable running through it, which supplies power to the island and surrounding houseboats.
Given the urgency of the situation and the fact that the bridge is the only connection to the island, Enexis Netbeheer commissioned us to provide an emergency power supply without delay. Once again, via boat, our drivers and technicians transported a 150 kVA generator with a load bank to the island and placed it next to the transformer station. The generator powers the transformer room, ensuring that those affected can once again meet their energy needs.
