Power Supply to Vuurtoreneiland, Durgerdam Halted by High Water – Voet Restores Electricity

The idyllic Vuurtoreneiland near Durgerdam has recently been completely cut off. High water levels flooded both access routes to the island. What made the situation even more urgent was damage to Liander’s transformer station, which supplies the island with power. The flooding left the island without electricity.

We transported a generator by boat, placing it on a pontoon along with a fuel tank. From there, our team carefully navigated the generator to the island — a journey of roughly 4.5 hours. Once on site, we ran a cable from the boat to the island, restoring electricity to residents and facilities.

This successful operation reflects the Standards of Voet — delivering tailored solutions even under the most challenging conditions, in the most remote corners of the country. We act quickly and effectively to ensure reliable temporary power installations whenever and wherever they’re needed.
