Power Supply After Fire in LV Switchroom Parking Garage
At the end of June, a fire broke out in a temporary distribution unit in a parking garage in Houten. Upon arrival, our technician found that the LV switchroom had been completely destroyed and could not be restored. This switchroom supplied power to both the parking garage and a shopping center, which required a fast solution to restore the energy supply.
In cooperation with Kronenburg Techniek and Joulz, we quickly built a temporary LV switchroom outside the damaged area. We established a temporary feed from the transformer to the new switchroom, allowing us to gradually re-energize the parking garage, the shopping center, and other facilities.
Despite challenges such as limited height and dark, damp conditions in the garage, we succeeded in installing the temporary switchroom and restoring the power supply within a single day. This meant that activities in the shopping center could resume quickly.
The next step will be restoring the original room, including cleaning, installing a new cabinet, and applying fire-resistant finishing. This process will take several months, after which the permanent installation will be phased back into service.
