Thatâs exactly the story of Marco, one of our valued colleagues at Voet. After years of experience in the taxi industry, Marco decided to shift his career path toward a role as a planner, where he excelled at organizing and streamlining processes.
He began his career, alongside his studies, as a taxi driver at Johnâs taxi company. What started as a part-time job quickly grew into a full-time role, with Marco increasingly taking on planning tasks. He became an indispensable part of the company, eventually growing into an experienced planner.
After John sold the taxi company, Marco continued working as a planner under the new owner for 20 years. âI further developed my skills as a planner and eventually combined this with a role as assistant manager for 10 years,â Marco explains. âI was responsible for the entire planning process, and after years of experience, I knew exactly how to make workflows as efficient as possible and maintain them.â
In 2022, Marco was approached by John about a planner role at Voet. Initially, he was hesitant, feeling comfortable where he was. However, after his employer went bankrupt, he decided to meet John for coffeeâand thatâs how he returned to Voet. Now, he has been working as a planner here for almost a year. âItâs a different organization, with new products and ways of working, but it still feels familiar because I already knew John from before.â
As a planner at Voet, Marco, together with his direct colleague, is responsible for creating smooth and efficient planning, which is crucial for ensuring the reliability of the service we provide. He starts his day by processing any malfunctions and updating the schedule with current information, adapting to ad-hoc requests. They keep the planning running smoothly by proactively anticipating changes and updating schedules daily based on real-time informationâall to ensure our service runs seamlessly. Itâs a challenging role where flexibility and accuracy are essential.
