For Voet, this was an exciting challenge. Schiphol has strict safety and sustainability requirements, and after a thorough site inspection we advised BAM, providing them with a detailed design and a complete turnkey solution — from materials, to technicians, to transport.

Our 2.5 MVA temporary installation was connected to the medium-voltage grid, converting 10kV to 400V. The cables running from the grid to the temporary installation, main switchboard, and low-voltage panels all had to be short-circuit-proof for safety. We achieved this using reinforced cable blocks, and in some cases the cables even had to be routed up along walls.

To save space, we placed the main switchboard on top of a 20ft container, using a Flat Deck to support it. This setup allowed us to place the 3200A Siemens main switchboard and a sub-distribution board with 6x1250A outgoing feeders directly on top of the transformer container.

To ensure the temporary installation caused minimal disruption on the Schiphol site, BAM had a temporary bridge built. Kilometres of our cable now run securely along this bridge in reinforced blocks, allowing trucks to pass freely underneath.
