Project Haga Hospital – Step-Up Transformer and NSA in The Hague
A faulty 10kV cable presents a much bigger risk for some organisations than for others. In a hospital, for example, an emergency power installation must always be available. That’s why last month we delivered a step-up transformer combined with an NSA at the Haga Hospital in The Hague.
While this cable was being replaced, our installation stood on standby at the hospital site. Patrick Schrijver from Haga Hospital explains their choice for Voet Energy Solutions:
“On the advice of medium-voltage installer Joulz, we contacted Voet for a quote for this setup. Joulz mentioned they always work with Voet. Of course, there are other companies that provide emergency power solutions, but with Voet we were confident — based on the information from Joulz — that we’d have an installation running on 10kV.”
Once on site, it turned out our truck couldn’t reach the intended location for the installation. That created a challenge, Schrijver explains: “The installation had to be placed elsewhere, which meant we needed much longer cables. That took some figuring out. Voet quickly arranged for the long cables to be delivered so we could connect everything.”
“To make sure we could switch quickly in case of emergency, Voet tested the system after installation and clearly explained how it all works,” says Schrijver. “Fortunately, the system never had to be activated — meaning there was no power outage at Haga Hospital.”
