Defective Medium-Voltage Cable at Brick Factory
Last week at 8:00 p.m. we received a call from Joulz; a defective medium-voltage cable had shut down the power supply at a brick factory in Walsoorden, Zeeland. An immediate 3150 kVA was needed, which had to be connected to the customer’s medium-voltage network.
Thanks to our long-standing collaboration with Joulz, we received the go-ahead at 8:30 p.m. With two trucks and a service van, we headed towards Walsoorden, a trip of about 2.5 hours. On-site, we installed a 10,000-volt medium-voltage transformer and directly connected the 3150 kVA generator to the factory’s network. With a powerlock connection on the low-voltage side and angled plugs on the medium-voltage side, the customer’s installation was back under power at 3:00 a.m., allowing production to resume.
While Joulz managed the medium-voltage side, Voet handled the low-voltage, transport, and advisory services. Thanks to this efficient cooperation, the factory was quickly operational again.
