“We guide our customers through the entire process, from start to finish.”

At Voet, we always think along with our customers. Do you have a challenging issue that calls for a creative and innovative solution? Then you’ve come to the right place. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all answers. Our goal is, and always will be, to provide reliable, tailor-made (temporary) power solutions. In this blog, we’ll show—through a real-life example—how our custom solutions come to life.

The Challenge

Recently, we received a request from a large industrial manufacturer for a temporary synchronous grid takeover. Voet is a preferred supplier for, among others, Liander, which means we handle synchronous grid takeovers on a daily basis. This time, however, there was one big difference: the significant distance between our generator and the reference point made it impossible to synchronize using a reference or bypass cable.

Why choose synchronous over “going dark”

When a project like the one described above comes in, it often involves business-critical installations and processes. Think of production lines at manufacturing plants, data centres, and maintaining cooling and heating systems. With the rise of new technologies and IoT, restarting all systems after a power outage has become an intensive and time-consuming task. That’s why many parties prefer a synchronous grid takeover instead of “going dark.”

The Solution

At Voet, we’re convinced there’s a suitable solution for every challenge. In this case, the request from the industrial manufacturer came at just the right time, giving us enough room to think along and develop an innovative approach. For this project, we helped develop our new, innovative wireless synchronization box. Using special software and a stable satellite connection, the synchronization box makes it possible to create a solid and precise reference point—even over long distances.

Our Approach

When we receive a challenge like this at Voet, we first look at the client’s full set of requirements. Based on our years of experience and technical expertise, we prepare an initial proposal in consultation with the customer. After approval, we develop the plan further, ensuring all key matters, documents, and details are aligned. This plan of action forms the basis for implementation and ensures all parties are fully informed in advance.

At our testing facility at our headquarters in Culemborg, specific solutions can be extensively tested and validated beforehand. This minimises the risk of deviations or delays on site. At Voet, unburdening the customer is key—we guide our clients through the entire process, from start to finish.
